this is a great shot. You can see exactly how the cattle were held in the corral and then brought up the ramp and loaded. And like you say, it's a great view too.

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

...But yes - you be afraid. Be very afraid. Especially when something I want is on sale. Because you never know what lurks under this ordinary exterior. Insipid Warthog? Devious Docker? Serial Squatter? I might be standing behind you at the checkout, scoping out the contents of your cart to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. I might be menacing that choice parking spot you wanted way out in BFE. Or beating you to the nail salon. Yesss, my precioussss. I'll be there when you arrive. I'll there after you're gone. In the dark of night. Gloating over the loss of revenues to the local RV parks. With....popcorn. Bwa-Ha-HA! :E
o.k., that made me have to clean the pepsi off my monitor. :B:B:B

I'm waiting for the Bank of Wal-Mart, so they can keep my money until I spend it in their stores.
Rebecca
They have one in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and a few other places. it's called ARVEST Bank. And yes we use it. And there is talk of wal-Mart opening their own bank chain. It is getting lots of opposition from some of the big boys already in the game.

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

I hope you are all writing this stuff tongue in cheek otherwise there are alot of pathetic people on this forum.
I tried putting my tongue in my cheek but I can't tell that it makes a difference. Now my Mama did tell me a few times that if I couldn't control my tongue to stick it out and bite down on it. Maybe a I need to try that. :B :W

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

OzarkPreacher it appears you know a lot about the law. I was just wondering if those folks would fall out of bed seeing how the TT is unlevel which is probably due to somekind of engineering error on Wally Worlds part do you suppose that would also result in a big fat Wally World lawsuit?
I am sure there are others on here who could also offer some advice on this Probable Cause Lawsuit.
BRB gotta grab a glass of wine.
Shirley
Why yes, I believe it would. Unstable sod for the rear jacks, add in an unlevel parking lot and you have a recipe for a Wally World lawsuit. :B
(My wife works for the largest retail chain in the world as a general liability claims specialist. She has about 15 years experience with these type claims. You would not believe the things some people want Wa-Mart to pay for...or then again, maybe you would.)

RE: Bad Walmart Campers II

Well there are clearly several problems here that need to be addressed so that others might properly Wallydock in the future. Some have already been touched on so please bear with me and please feel free to add additional commentary as you should feel beneficial to the spirit and purpose of this topic.
It is obvious that the power cord from the Bounder is improperly and unsafely strewn across these campsites. it should have been placed against and slightly under the side of the MH so as not to trip or otherwise entangle those who might wander between the rigs in the course of the stay there. This would open Wal Mart up to a liability issue that is not needed.
The chain on the generator is also off the ground and should either be lengthened or move the generator closer to the TT so as not to promote another trip hazard. That would be yet another Wal Mart liability issue.
moving on to the issue of the stabilizer jacks on the rear of the TT. This is totally unacceptable. The jacks appear to be on nothing more than sod. A good rain will make the TT unstable. Either place a large block under the jacks or turn the TT across several spaces so that the jacks can be placed on solid ground and also to avoid any damage to the landscaping. A hole left where the jacks had sunken into the sod could be yet another later liability issue should someone step in the hole and twist an ankle. Better to take up 5-6 parking spaces than to risk this.
Now it also appears, as someone has already mentioned, that the front of the TT is a bit high. This could cause premature refrigerator failure as well as impede the fully efficient operation of the unit. If it is running on gas this will cause more gas to be burned thus enlarging the carbon footprint of the TT and endangering the polar bears even more than they already are. Too many implications here to even address them all.
Both units appear to unoccupied at this time and yet both left the steps out. Again, we have an invitation for a fall. DO I really have to go here again?
The genset sitting on the sod may cause a fire hazard. The grass looks very much on the dry side and we could be seeing the beginnings of a insurance claim here. Wonder how we could tie this being Wal Marts fault and reap a huge settlement?
The Bounder is clearly backed too far into the space as it had obviously does not have room to extend the awning fully without hitting the tree. Of course if he came prepared he can just trim that sucker back and he will be good to go.
I see that the TV antenna is raised on the TT. I do hope he has hung his reminder on the crank handle to encourage him to let it down before he departs the campground. After all, after saving the huge amount of money in CG fees I would hate see him lose it all in having to replace that antenna.
That's all for now and I hope all of us have taken some serious lessons in proper Wallydocking etiquette away from this horrendous display of public insanity. Did someone get the license numbers of these carpetbaggers so that the proper Wal Mart police can identify them the next time they cross the bounds of of proper behaviour.
I must go now. All the stress of having to look at this outrage has taken a toll on me emotionally this evening.

RE: Prevent tanks from freezing while dry camping

you could use proylene glycol, food grade glycol, which unlike ethylene glycol is not toxic. Not sure as to the characteristics or specs for dilution or if it even can be and still be effective.
I would NOT under any circumstances put ethylene glyvcol in my tanks. You get caught dumping that anywhere and as someone said it is a "hangin' offense". Not safe and definitely not a cool thing to do.

RE: Allegro Bay by Tiffin...how do they stack up

I have a '97 Allegro Bay with the Ford chassis. We haven't had it very long and have only made 3 trips but other than replacing some worn furniture and window treatments it is in very good shape and I figure will last us a long time.
We are very happy with it. We sold a very nice 2004 26' TT with slide and bought the AB. The AB also has LR/DR slide and is 32'. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

RE: Any RV-unfriendly cities along the US 101 in Oregon?

Thanks for the replies. I realize the coast is full of State Parks but we are kind of short on time and just want to spend the night and continue driving the next day. I did assume after looking at the map that towns are small and most likely would have a lot of parking regulations.
Just get a recent edition of "Next Exit" and you can locate every Wal-mart, Flying J etc. and decide where to stop for the night as you make the trip. If you are not allowed on a Wal-Mart lot it will be posted.

RE: crankyape.com

All I can add is that to buy something so costly and maintenance intensive as a MH without seeing it and doing a detailed inspection is plain crazy.
Would you buy a house without seeing it in person?
Yep, if the margin was enough I sure would. Have bought several vehicles sight unseen, over the phone and online. If the price is right then the risk is minimal. Never been burned yet but it could happen.
Just a matter of what a person is comfortable with I guess. If you are not comfortable with a transaction such as this would be then by all means do not do it.

Some pics from the Carousel Horse Museum at Knoebels. A lot of history here.

I got a sister that would love this place. She collects carousel horses. These would have her mouth watering.
